Abstract

The School Transformation Program (Program Sekolah Penggerak/PSP) is an initiative of the Indonesian Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology designed to foster educational transformation by improving learning quality and teacher competence. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of PSP in enhancing teacher competence at SD Negeri 06 Mempawah Hilir, Mempawah Regency. The research employed a qualitative method with a case study approach, using interviews, observations, and documentation as data collection techniques. The findings indicate that teacher competence can be improved through training and mentoring, the development of teaching modules based on the Merdeka Curriculum, the implementation of student-centered learning, and regular evaluations. The implementation of PSP has proven effective in developing teachers’ pedagogical, professional, social, and personal competencies. Supporting factors include visionary school leadership, teacher motivation, and technological facilities, while inhibiting factors involve adaptation to the new curriculum, diverse student characteristics, unequal teacher competency standards, and the need for varied teaching methods. Overall, PSP makes a significant contribution to enhancing teacher competence, although technical reinforcement and continuous mentoring are required to achieve more optimal results.
