Abstract

At this time the quality of education in Indonesia is still relatively low. This situation is caused by the lack of quality of the Human Resources (HR) owned, resulting in obstacles to the management of the school. Therefore, the principal must be able to improve knowledge, skills and attitudes as well as values, so that the Human Resources (HR) have the competence to carry out their duties. Likewise, the principal of SMA Negeri 1

Mempawah Hilir who always strives for the school to improve the quality of its education, because quality education will produce quality output. This research was conducted using a descriptive method through a qualitative approach. In this qualitative approach, research is carried out using (fild research), which is a research procedure that produces descriptive data in the form of written or spoken words from people and observed behavior. The steps taken by the principal in the management of the principal in improving the quality of education at SMA Negeri I Mempawah Hilir are to carry out a good Human Resource planning which includes, Human Resources Recruitment (HR recruitment), Selection Process, Human Resources development, Job performance (assessment of work performance), employee welfare, maintenance of working relations and making effective policies.
